- The call is placed from a FreeCallMe VoIP number, similar to how Google Voice or Skype calls appear. The recipient sees a phone number on their caller ID and can answer normally.
- Is the call quality good for calls to India?
- Yes. We use HD voice codecs (Opus) where the destination supports it, routed through Tier 1 VoIP carriers for termination in India. On a normal home Wi-Fi or 4G/5G connection, audio is typically clearer than a regular international cellular call.
- Are calls to India secure?
- Yes. Audio between your browser and our edge is encrypted using DTLS-SRTP, the same technology that secures online banking and apps like Google Meet. We don't record your calls, store recordings, or sell call metadata to advertisers.
- What's the time zone in India?
- India uses IST (UTC+5:30). Worth checking before you dial. Most people don't appreciate a midnight ring.
