FreeCallMe, in your pocket. And a number of your own.
Call real phones in 220+ countries and pay by the minute, the same as on the web. The app adds the one thing a browser tab cannot do: rent a US number, and let people call you back.
Free to download. Calls are pay-as-you-go, and your first one is free, up to $0.25.
A US number your family can call you back on
Calling out is only half of staying in touch. Rent a US number in the app and it becomes the number people dial to reach you. It rings your phone wherever you are, and when you cannot pick up it takes a message you can play back later.
It is not a second SIM and not a burner. It is a normal US number, on your existing phone, that happens to belong to you for as long as you keep it.
See what calling out costs →From $7.99 / month
Or $79.99 a year. US storefront pricing. Apple and Google bill it and show your local price in the app.
- 200 inbound minutes every month, then 1c a minute from your calling credit
- Voicemail, with playback in the app
- A push notification the moment you miss a call
- Block any caller you do not want to hear from
- Use it as your caller ID when you call out
- Cancel from the App Store or Play Store whenever you like
Voice calls, not texting. Texts sent to your number are saved so you can read them. Sending a reply is not available yet.
This is a second number, not a phone line. It cannot reach 911 or any other emergency service. Keep a real line for emergencies.
US numbers only, and one number per account. Inbound minutes past the allowance come out of your calling credit, so keep a little on the account.
The app and the browser are good at different things
Neither one is the cut-down version. You can sign in to both with the same account, and your credit and call history follow you.
Only in the app
- A number that rings
- Rent a US number and calls to it ring your phone with a proper incoming-call screen, the same as any other call.
- Voicemail
- Miss a call and the caller can leave a message. Play it back in the app whenever you get to it.
- Missed-call notifications
- A push the moment somebody tries you, so a closed app is not a missed call you never hear about.
- Your contacts
- Pull in your phone's address book and dial people by name instead of typing numbers.
- Block a caller
- Any number you block stops getting through to you, and hears a busy tone rather than anything it can act on.
- A real keypad
- A native dialer with working tones, for the phone trees that expect you to press 3.
Only in the browser
- Nothing to install
- Open a tab and dial. The person you call needs no app, no account, and no software, which is the whole point of a call link.
- Send files mid-call
- Drop a file into a browser call and it goes straight to the other side, peer to peer. The app does not do this.
- Top up any amount
- Add any amount of calling credit you like on the web, with a card or PayPal. In-app purchases are fixed packs.
- Custom branding
- Pro call rooms on your own domain with your own logo. That is a web feature.
Everything else works in both places: dialling 220+ countries at the same per-minute rates, free voice and video calls over a shared link, group calls, and your call history.
Questions
- Do I need the app to use FreeCallMe?
- No. Everything the browser does stays in the browser, with nothing to install, and the person you call never needs the app. Install it if you want to dial from your pocket, or if you want a US number of your own that rings.
- What does a rented number cost?
- From $7.99 a month or $79.99 a year on the US storefront, billed by Apple or Google rather than by us. Your local price is the one shown in the app. Every plan includes 200 inbound minutes a month, then 1c a minute from your calling credit.
- Can I send text messages from my number?
- Not yet. A rented number is for voice calls today. Texts sent to it are saved so you can read them in the app, but sending a reply is not available yet. We will say so plainly when that changes.
- Can I call 911 from my FreeCallMe number?
- No. A rented number is a second number for ordinary calls, not a replacement for a phone line. It cannot reach 911 or any other emergency service. Keep a real phone line for emergencies.
- Which countries can I rent a number in?
- United States numbers only for now. You can call out to 220+ countries from anywhere, but the number you rent is a US one.
