Encrypted, not recorded
Audio is encrypted between your browser and our edge with DTLS-SRTP. We don't record calls, we don't sell your dial history, and we don't use it to target ads. The list of numbers you've called stays on your account.

Calling mobiles from a computer: common questions
- Can I really call any mobile phone from my computer?
- Yes, in any of the 220+ countries we support, on any major carrier. Pick the country from the dropdown, type the mobile number, and we route the call through our VoIP carriers straight to the recipient's network. They see a phone number on their caller ID and answer like any other call. No app needed on their end.
- Do I need a phone connected to my computer?
- No. The call doesn't go through your personal phone. It originates from our VoIP network. There's no Bluetooth pairing, no "link to phone," no companion app you have to keep installed. The browser tab is the phone.
- What kind of microphone do I need?
- Any working mic. Your laptop's built-in microphone is fine for most calls. External USB or Bluetooth headsets work too, and the dialer uses whatever your system has set as the default input. There's no audio configuration step.
- Will the recipient know I'm calling from a computer?
- Not unless you mention it. The audio is HD, the caller ID shows a regular phone number, and the call lands like any other inbound call. They won't see "WebRTC" or "calling via internet" anywhere on their end.
- Does this work on Windows, Mac, and Linux?
- Yes. Windows 10/11, macOS, all major Linux distributions, and ChromeOS. The dialer is a web page, so any platform with Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge can use it. There's no native app to maintain per OS, which is also why there's nothing locked to one platform.
- Can I use the dial pad after the call connects?
- Yes. The on-screen keypad stays active during the call, so you can press 1 for sales, punch in a PIN, navigate any IVR phone tree, or send DTMF tones to an automated system.
- How much does it cost to call a mobile from my computer?
- You get a $0.25 trial credit at sign-up, enough to test the line: about 2 to 3 minutes to a pricier destination like an Indian mobile, and longer to a US number. After that, it's pay-as-you-go from $0.01/min. The cheapest destinations like the US, UK, and Western Europe run about $0.01 to $0.02/min; India is about $0.08. The exact rate is shown before you dial. Top-up packs are $3, $8, and $15, with no monthly fee.
- Can I send text messages from the dialer too?
- Not yet. The web dialer handles voice calls only. SMS is on the roadmap. If you need to text someone right now, this isn't the tool, but for placing a real phone call from a laptop it's the fastest setup we know of.
- Is calling mobiles from a computer legal?
- Yes, in every country we route to. We use licensed VoIP termination partners and operate under the same rules as a traditional phone company. The dialer isn't for harassment, illegal robocalling, or caller-ID spoofing. Those will get the account closed and reported.
- Is this better than using my phone's hotspot?
- It's a different thing. Hotspotting still uses your phone's minutes and number. The web dialer places the call from our VoIP network, so it doesn't touch your cell plan, doesn't drain your phone battery, and lets you call countries your carrier doesn't support cheaply.
